Tina was enamored with ASL at an early age. When she was in the third grade, her best friend's parents and sibling were deaf. Since she and her friend spent a great deal of time together, it felt only natural to want to learn how to sign. Her friend taught her the alphabet – and Tina never forgot it! In 1994, Tina became involved in the Deaf Ministry at her Church, and has never looked back – striving to learn something new everyday.

Tina has always been interested in the legal profession. While working at a law firm, she met and married her love, Darrick A. Latimer. Eight and a half months later, they were blessed with a son, Darrien Jamal (DJ) – followed shortly thereafter by another son, Dylan Alexander. Tina is also favored with the best son-in-law a woman could pray for, Devin Alphonso, 10.

Tina has an ultimate goal – to be a certified interpreter. She has taken classes at Gallaudet University and Prince George's Community College, and is presently enrolled in the Interpreter Preparation Program at the Community College of Baltimore County (Catonsville), while pursuing an Associate's Degree.

Tina joined B.E.L.I.E.V.E. because she has a heart for the Deaf and has always been an avid music lover. B.E.L.I.E.V.E. affords Tina the opportunity to use her God-given gift to fellowship with and perform for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. Tina loves to read mystery/suspense/"who-done-it" thrillers (must be hardback cover – smile), watch movies and wants to learn to speak Spanish proficiently.
